Consideration of a Report by the Revision Committee (GS 1822Y)

The Chair of the Revision Committee (the Rt Revd Christopher Cocksworth, Bishop of Coventry) moved:

'That the Synod do take note of this Report.'

Following debate, the motion was carried. The business now stands committed to the House of Bishops.

Draft Measure and draft Amending Canon for Final Drafting (Revised at the July 2010 group of sessions)

Report by the Steering Committee (GS 1708-9Z)

 

Queen's and Prince of Wales's Consent to be signified.

As the Draft Measure as revised at the Revision Committee stage affects the prerogatives and interests of Her Majesty and of the Prince of Wales, their consents had been applied for and were signified by the Bishop of London, the Rt Rev Richard Chartres, before the Final Drafting Stage commenced.

 

Geoffrey Tattersall (Manchester and a member of the Steering Committee) moved:

'That the Synod do take note of this Report.'

Following debate, the motion was carried in a vote by Houses. There voted:

Bishops          28 for              0 against        with 2 abstentions

Clergy             149 for            14 against      with 8 abstentions

Laity                132 for            37 against      with 10 abstentions
